May is National Invasive Species Action Month (NISAM)—a time to raise awareness and inspire action against the growing threat of invasive species in Canada. Throughout the month, we’re highlighting simple, impactful steps everyone can take to protect our lands and waters through the Take Action programs: Clean Drain Dry, Don’t Let it Loose, PlayCleanGo, Buy Local Burn Local, Squeal on Pigs and PlantWise. Whether you’re a community member, organization, or educator, we welcome you to join us in spreading the word and helping stop the spread.
We’re working together with Invasive Species Council of BC to deliver a full month of action. This year’s theme is “Small Actions, Big Impacts”, highlighting how everyone has a part to play in mitigating the impacts of invasive species. Throughout the month, we’ll focus on the small actions each person can take to help prevent their spread at home, in the garden, or while enjoying lands and waters across Canada.
